Cicchetteria AL PESCE ROSSO

The most wholesome experience in this city. I stumbled upon this caffe while struggling to find my hotel and was so satisfied with a cosy environment and tasty coffee plus Italian dishes. If I will ever visit Venice again I will definitely come here to say “hello”!

Tasty, simple breakfasts that were not only very good, but also looked nice. We got our drinks a few minutes after ordering and the food a few minutes later. In addition, the place looks cozy and the owner is very polite.

The cicchetti here are superb. The owner is so so nice, he even cut all in half for us even though we did not ask. He patiently explained the ingredients to us. The view to the street is one of its kind. i highly recommend this place.

We stopped in here for some wine and cicchetti and I am so glad we did. We were on a family vacation and celebrating my mother’s birthday. The four of us, parents, sister and I, sat inside and quickly made friends with Lucia. I tried my best to converse with her in Italian and she was very nice about it. We had some laughs.We tried the house white wine as well as the white wine on tap, both were refreshing and light. We ordered a variety of cicchetti. Each and every one of them were delicious. They are part of a larger restaurant nearby and their chef stopped by and greeted us as well. We stayed for about an hour or two, and with the amazing food, wine, and Lucia’s company, I will definitely go out of my way to stop by there next time I am in Venice. She treated us to some small desserts and digestives for my mother’s birthday. She was an absolute gem. Do yourself a favor and stop by and enjoy the spot.

Hidden Gem, we stumbled upon this place (thanks to a high google review score) and it was so good we came back the next day, and arranged for friends to meet us the following. We found it very good value, lovely food, and very lovely staff.Happy to cut the Cicchetti in half, while we haven't yet found another venue that would.
